The recent opening of a road connecting us with the coast allows us to go swimming or sunbathing on the beach at Salvé de Laredoin just over 10 minutes or, if we prefer, to visit the nature reserve of Santoña and Noja, consisting of channels, beaches and swamps, making up the great marshlands of Cantabria.
Nearby, only 7 kilometres from the country house is Carpin, an interesting zoo of Iberian fauna; and if we want to continue enjoying the animals and the landscape, we can visit Nature Park of Cabarceno, barely 50 km away.
The area has numerous caves, especially the “Covalanas caves” (5 km away) with its Palaeolithic cave paintings, which together with the Sanctuary of the Virgen Bien Aparecida and the church of Santo Cristo de Limpias form the main artistic resources of the area.
